Antoinette Greer is the Co-Founder and a native of Los Angeles. Who grew up in the inner city's Watts-Willowbrook area.
She is a breast cancer survivor and a Co-Founder of My Sister My Friend Breast Cancer Support. Diagnosed at the age of 40, while residing in Long Beach, California. She underwent a modified radical mastectomy, six months of chemotherapy and twenty-six treatments of radiation. It was during this time that she learned the women in her community faced marginal challenges in areas such as: access to care, cultural competence and overall survival of the disease. One year post treatment she gathered together with three other survivors and formed an Affiliate Chapter of Sisters Network. An African American Breast Cancer Survivorship Organization recognized nationally for helping women within their communities, later, becoming My Sister My Friend Breast Cancer Support in 2006. She sought to take charge of the needs of women treating for breast cancer in her community that these women might not slip through the cracks and re-enter the mainstream. The program includes a social worker for case management and a professional counselor.
