Facing the Future offers wide-ranging and academically appealing curricula, which, from a planning perspective, are arranged by Grade – K-12 and post-secondary; by Subject – including English Language Learners (ELL) and Literacy, Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies; and by “Big Idea” – where Big Ideas range from Interconnectedness to Connecting with Nature and Respect for Limits to Universal Responsibility, to name a few. Comprehensive courses are anchored by fundamental concepts that include systems connections, sustainability, poverty, equity, population, consumption, climate change, health, social justice, human rights, peace and conflict, and governance. Textbooks are formatted as a series of modules, including instructional units and daily lesson plans. Activity guides pull together all Facing the Future activities and exercises into a convenient, accessible resource.
