If you want to protest the NRA being a Tax Exempt Organization, download Form 13909 from the https://t.co/WlkVb5bmAx THE EIN # is 53-0116130 for the NRA
So, a school is a gun free zone and it is an open target but the actual chances of any specific school being targetted is miniscule. Arming teachers and staff brings guns into the school that would never be targetted, statistically speaking. That increases, regardless of training, the statistical probability of students and staff being killed or injured through accident, psycho teacher, or student theft of a teachers gun in a school that never faced an attack.
Someone needs to sit the kid who got bullet fragments lodged in his neck from the discharge ricochet and explain to him that our NRA, I mean Second Amendment, Freedumbz are way more important than his life or safety. Oh, there was another accidental discharge at another elementary or secondary school yesterday by another trained armed guard. With 45 trying to lock and load every possible classroom, I guess it will just be a matter of time before our nation's faculty and staff get to rack up their own body count.
That's too bad that this teacher screwed up . Negligent discharges should not happen if you maintain your firearm and have studied how to use it properly . But it looks like WAPO being highly biased towards firearm ownership is cherry picking the articles it wants us to see . We really aren't seeing any flip side firearm stories from WAPO. My point being that there is good and bad in our world and we can't 100% control it . But media can at least be balanced with its views instead of biased .
To become a police officer, you have to pass a mental health evaluation, to midigate liability and to prove you are mentally safe to do the job which includes handling a firearm. Are these teachers getting the same background checks? Are they mentally safe to use a firearm? What will happen when little Johnny pushes the last button on the teachers mental health board and the use of a gun on him finally seems like the right thing to do. I wouldn't want to have that liability anywhere near me....
I wouldn’t send my child to a school with amateur gun holding teachers. Training in gun use is only a small part of the equation. The capability to use it safely under stress is overlooked, especially in classroom environs and is not covered by target practice and passing gun use testing.
Please stop using the word "accident" to describe these events. 99.9% can be attributed to the negligence of the owner of the weapon. It is criminal negligence at best, reckless disregard for human life at worst. And that's when no one dies.
Just get rid of AR-15. GD, is it that hard to understand it is not needed outside of the military. Sheez. What do u desperately need it for 👉🏼Fear👉🏼Fear of people you've mistreated terribly, coming back to make you pay for ur crimes and misdeeds to society👉🏼Just what? Say it so u can work that chit out in ur mind(s), bc assault weapons are not helpful, if u haven't noticed. They are killing innocent children, church folk, and people just trying to go to the movie house or school, in peace. What is your gun loving problem? What happened to u as a child? ❓❓❓
This story is unbelievable and I can’t believe any logical person would advocate for arming teachers. This excerpt from the article is shocking:
Gonzales said he learned about the incident when his 17-year-old son came home with blood on his shirt and bullet fragments in his neck.
“He’s shaken up, but he’s going to be okay. I’m just pretty upset that no one told us anything and we had to call the police ourselves to report it,” the father told the TV station.
This teacher and the administration deserve what is coming to them. Way to teach your students how to be safe, responsible and accountable.
How absolutely horrific. They're trying to brainwash these poor kids into thinking guns are these innocuous inanimate objects, and it ends up turning into a horror show where a student is actually injured. This country is doomed.
