I know this doesn't address the issue of burial, but I just had to imagine, he's fifteen. Could anyone imagine their 15-year-old going through a trauma like that. My heart breaks for his family, for his friends.
He helped save lives. He's a hero in every sense of the word. How he's buried won't change that but he deserves military honors as a way to commemorate his heroism.
..to the adopted parents of N'murderer'Cruz:... 'man sees ur ACTIONS.....GOD knows your MOTIVES....God decides the fate of all......may you never forget the names or faces of all victims lost @ Stoneman-Douglass HS......REST IN POWER ..PETER WANG
Whsn did being in the ROTC equal military honors when you have never served? DISRESPECTFUL to all who have and are serving and died on the battlefield, Iraq, Afghanistan, Desert Storm, Africa
When he did this hero act, he never thought of anything making him special. So people, please stop debate whether or not he should be buried as a military hero. That’s an insult to his sacrifice. Please stop!
Shut up CNN! You have so much hate in your hearts, now you want me to believe you love people? HOW SUPID DO YOU THINK PEOPLE ARE? All your doing with this terrible tragedy is using it to stir up more strife. You gotta be working with the Russians.
The family will have the JROTC perform the funeral and provide the honor guard. Veterans and military personnel are encouraged to attend his funeral (open to the public tomorrow) to pay respects.
Full military honors will not happen due to the requirements. The ROTC can perform the 21 gun solute, taps & flag folding. I do hope the ROTC does this for him.
Military honors is for military only. Anything that deviates from this would be disrespectful to all us Vets. This kid should receive a honorable funeral but not military. Sad for his family though
All of those saying that this is the NRAs fault are uninformed. The NRA gave money to this JROTC program and also paid for the kevlar plates the other kid used to protect his classmates.
