Good he belongs in the joint, and because hes an ex cop is going to be miserable in there. but he has it coming, no mercy just took a person's life like if there was nothing.
He got just what he deserved; he may have been wrong, but that officer’s life was not in danger with the man running away from him. The way he was running, that officer could have caught him and tackled him to the ground; very bad decision on the officer’s part; then, he planted a weapon by the body? It doesn’t get any nastier than that!
It's about time. It hurts me to think that anybody who puts on a police uniform, will actually think that he/she is above the law, and try to get away with murder. I hope more unlawful cops get their just deserts.
Sentence was not long enough for the crime. It's progress but not enough. Should still face murder charges. Nobody is afraid of someone running away from them who is not shooting at them.
I live about 40 miles from Charleston. Believe me when I tell you that they are still listening to victim impact statements and once that is done w/the judge will hand down his sentence.
why did he not get life? why only the 19 to 24 years he killed someone not making a whole lot of since at least he got that just seems a little unbalanced to me
I wish this would be consistent throughout the USA. Shooting an unarmed person in the back, will never be acceptable. EVEN by law enforcement and they should be charged with murder. This cop should have been sentenced to LIFE because he planted a weapon and was caught. Enough of hiding behind your badges. Time to be held accountable!
He first pleaded not guilty so I'm wondering if the outcome of the sentencing would of still been the same if he didn't plead guilty now?
Ulises Ramirez Raya ves, when evidence is right, the courts get it right..most of those other shootings were done right..people just dont get that
Not enough! He should be executed! It’s what he did to Walter Scott! This animal needs to be put down and hopefully some prison justice occurs
