You deport 11,000,000 people. You will have millions of houses and apartments vacant. Lowering the value of all homes, and decreasing construction jobs for years. Also the millions of jobs like teachers, and all others who will be laid off. They say the hit to our economy would be near 3 TRILLION...
Did anyone know that the AWS (American Welding Society) has stated that by 2018, America will be short over 125,000 welders. Hmmmm, why don't those jobs get filled? Because college kids would rather study film and philosophy than learn a trade like welding.
Look at what we've done over the decades! We've made the family farm non competitive and we've shipped our industry to other countries. Just in my tiny corner of America, the youth don't get to work in agriculture like my generation did and we've skipped a generation when it come to teaching skilled labor. Our furniture manufacturers packed up and went to China. An entire generation of furniture builders took their skills to death or retirement with them. Same goes for Welding, etc. The housing bubble that burst put construction in the same conundrum. Over a decade passed where construction was a hard field to make a living in. Fast Food was a part time job mostly manned by teens, college kids and retirees. Now we have people looking to make a living wage because somewhere along the way, out of necessity it became a career. This mess started over 20 years ago when NAFTA went into force. It won't right itself overnight and like NAFTA, it will cause problems.
Drastically reduce the cost of education where potential employees are trained. As it stands, a great many coming out of University are so deeply in debt with student loans that they live little better than someone with only a high school education. Why go to school to learn how to be a slave when you can do it without going to College? Oh, and leave DACA alone. Everything else aside, what is deporting 800,000 people, mostly tax payers and some who employ others, going to do to our economy? Now he is after another group of immigrants as well. I hope we all enjoy beans and rice a lot. Might not hurt some of us to invest in a tent as well , while we still can.
Round up all the pan handlers on the corners of the USA and send them to work in Texas and Florida there will be a bunch of work there
Today's youth want the world handed to them on a platter when they get out of school rather than actually put in some work and build a career. Teenagers are no different they dont want to work a minimum wage job and risk losing their parents paying for everything. Our society has gone from hard work builds character and a career to no work means the government will take care of you with other peoples money and those who have taken no initative to learn a skill or go to school feel like they deserve the same salary as those who did.
thanks to Obama - 45s fiscal year starts in October - also I suppose more jobs opened with all these disasters - they need many to help clean up and rebuild again
Great news! It's good to see Obama's economic policies bear fruit.
Obama??? Yea, Obama. Fiscal years are measured from October 1 to September 30. Trump took office at the end of January and he hasn't enacted any fiscal policy that would warrant him receiving credit for this. The Bureau of Labor statistics was reporting job growth since before Trump took office.
I would like very much to see where those jobs are and what they pay, and much finer detail on exactly what jobs are available ~ along with some clarity regarding whether companies are proactively hiring or just have job openings listed "on the books", but with no hires.
How many of those jobs are $7.50/hour (see how generous I am being?) How many include predatory scheduling? Low pay teaching positions? Low pay medical positions? I don't know what the deal is, of course; as I have not studied the details of what jobs are available.
How many jobs are not being filled in the agricultural arena?
The really big question is, where are the big unemployment numbers and where are the big jobs available numbers? Are older people still finding it hard to get hired? Would cost too much?
Are these 6.2 million healthy jobs paying fair living wages, safe work environments, fair hours, room for growth, family friendly, etc., etc.?
Way to go president Obama! Your fiscal year and policies are ending with record highs! New Washington post shows the census bureau also just announced that in 2016 the middle class had its highest earnings since 1999. What's even more remarkable, he took our economy from the worst since the depression, to the record highs! Good job!
