I'm praying for the souls of the 3 killed, dozens injured, and all the families affected by this tragedy! May the hate and bigotry of Supremacists, KKK, Nazis, as well as leftists, & people of all colors, be overcome by God's love, light, & forgiveness.
They were in a helicopter, right? The post mentioned they were aviators. What happened with the helicopter in conjunction with whatever yesterday was (protest/riot/demonstration/???)
While I am very sorry these men died in the line of duty, I am appalled at the lack of police response to the white supremacist rally in Charlottesville. There were so few police there and no riot gear that I saw, one can only conclude they saw the event differently then the ones in Ferguson where the skin color was different.
These three deaths are a sad truth to the hate that has filled our country. Hate filled words and hateful actions have no place in a civilized society. Do not let hate take over our lives. Stand up and hold people accountable when you see bigotry, bullying, intimidation, racism, or yes, even terrorism as we saw this weekend.
These men died while serving as first responders. They daily left their families to serve and protect. I am thankful for their service to the people of Virginia and will keep their families in my thoughts and prayers. Their service is honored as is their sacrifice. Someone said they were "only" on their way to the protest. Yet the violence and risk to law abiding citizens was why they were needed. They gave their lives in the performance of their duties and that is ALL that matters here. 😢🇺🇸
The female victim has been identified as 32-year-old Heather Heyer, a paralegal from Va https://www.facebook.com/heather.heyer.9 (http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/va-paralegal-killed-protest-whi... )
A sad day fo Virginia. Thank you to the officers for their service and prayers to their families. Police officers should be recognized for their sacrifice without politics- their is no politics in putting your life on the line to protect our communities!
Just about as misleading as a headline can get. No doubt the helicopter accident was a tragic event, but it happened nearly 5 hours after the protesters completely dispersed and 7 miles from the scene of the protests. Go ahead and keep fueling the fire , NPR. Nice work. 😡
If America and her judicial system treated white extremism the same as it treats all other extremism, this rally never would have happened.Chickens are coming home to roost.
To you families, I am so sorry for your loss. You have sacrificed so many hours and days during any routine week of work and now the ultimate. May you be surrounded with love and support.
